The Rape
He lay face-down on the sidewalk. He was moving slowly, barely conscious of the crowd. They were discussing his plight.
"Jumped. . .fell. . .pushed. . .mugged. . .hit by a car. . ."
Then the drivers loading him into the ambulance asked him a question for which he had no answer:
"Sir,. . . .can you tell us who you are?"
